3.21PM: Corowa's Rivalea abattoir has launched an investigation into animal cruelty after police received footage of a pig being prodded and kicked.

The footage was filmed in February and handed over anonymously to new animal rights organisation Aussie Farms.

Police are investigating the footage after receiving the 13-minute video from Aussie Farms on Wednesday.

Rivalea’s managing director Mick Hewat said the mistreatment of animals was not tolerated on any of the company’s properties.

“Rivalea has launched an immediate investigation into the disturbing content,” he said.
