RESIDENTS are encouraged to sample the cakes, biscuits and slices on offer at Wood Real Estate, Lavington tomorrow.

The agency is hosting an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea fund-raiser, from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

“Last year we raised $750, so the challenge is to do better this year,” Greg Wood, of Wood Real Estate, said.

“I’m also going to fire up the barbecue.”

The company has been involved in the cancer council fund-raiser for four years.

“I lost my cousin and grandfather to cancer and it’s another opportunity to give back to the community,” Mr Wood said.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea co-ordinator for the western region, Emma Ryall, encouraged businesses and individuals to get involved.

“People can host morning tea this month or next with the money going to cancer research and support services,” she said.

The NSW target is to raise $4.8 million.
