This highly-regarded series is conducted over 10 rounds held at seven different venues in three states during the winter months, and it is a real coup for Albury-Wodonga MCC to be granted a round.
Round two was held at Shepparton yesterday.
Riders from four states will take part and tournament director Tim Heffernan said this visit to the Diamond Park track shapes as a trip to remember.
“I’m really excited about this meeting and I’m sure anyone who sees this event will be pleased with the product we deliver,” he said.
“We have more than 30 senior riders and plenty of juniors and the racing these guys turn on often leaves me speechless.
“There are at least half a dozen riders in the seniors that should or could be riding in the UK professionally, some already have international experience, and in the juniors there are at least three youngsters that have the potential to become Grand Prix riders.”
Among the best-credentialed riders are Jack Holder (brother of 2012 World Champion, Chris), Tyler King, Joey Ringwood, Tyson Nelson, Josh Waters, Rob Medson, Rob Branford and superstar of the future Max Croker who will be having his first ride on a 500cc bike having graduated from the 350cc.
A highlight will be the debut of multiple Australian Dirt Track Champion Josh Pickering.
Gates open at 9.30, with racing to start at 11am. Entry is $10 per vehicle.
