Cr Mack expressed his disappointment at missing out on funds to upgrade the Riverina Highway near Lake Hume and to undertake major works on Wagga Road.
The Albury Art Gallery redevelopment also missed out on funding.
Cr Mack said he would have further discussions with member for Albury Greg Aplin over the projects but is not optimistic about the items on council’s wish-list.
“This is what you get when you’ve got a safe Liberal seat,” he said.
But Mr Aplin has defended the budget as responsible, and cited $1 million to continue planning for the replacement Yarrawonga-Mulwala bridge, $4.5 million in road grants for councils, and funds for road planning, investigations and acquisitions.
He said there was $1 million for two disability facilities in Albury, and funding for the new Albury Brain Health Centre was confirmed.
It is not fair to say there is nothing for Albury in this budget. There just isn’t anything we weren’t expecting.
