Portugal

USA took all three points deservedly in their opening match against Ghana, when they were written off by pundits before kickoff. USA fans will hope that Clint Dempsey can keep the pressure on Portugal and to deny superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, from scoring. Despite their defeat against Germany, the loss of Fabio Coentrao and Pepe due to injury and suspension respectively, Portugal still boasts a host of quality players in every department. My tip: Portugal 3-1.
TIM CARRIER
On paper you’d think Portugal should win this game quite comfortably however, I’m not so sure and I think there could be an upset here. I don’t quite think the USA will take all three points but instead Jurgen Klinsmann’s side will keep themselves in the hunt to qualify with a 2-2 draw.
SIMON TENNANT
Well doesn't this game have some added spice after the US beat Ghana and Portugal were hammered by Germany 4-0. He may end up play, but Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo is not fit after struggling with a knee after the first game. The US were good in patches against Ghana - particularly the first 32-odd-seconds patch at the start of the game, but definitely have the talent to cause Portugal some headaches. That said, Portgual 2-1.

Russia were unconvincing in their opening match against a weak Korean side and, with star goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev’s confidence on the low after a schoolboy error, which led to a goal, Russia and Fabio Capello are expecting a difficult match against tournament dark horses. Belgium, on the other hand, were unlucky to concede an early goal to Algeria in their opening match, but made amends when they took the match 2-1. I expect the big name players to step up in this second Group H match, my tip: Belgium 2-0.
TIM CARRIER
This match is likely to determine top spot in Group H with the winner looking at a possible quarter final berth at least. I think Belgium will notch up their second win here 1-0 however, I also wouldn’t be surprised to see the Russians hold out for a scoreless draw.
SIMON TENNANT
Highly rated Belgium left it late to put its nose in front against Algeria, while Russia would have been disappointed with a 1-all draw against Korea. The star-studden Belgians were disappointing for the most part with Eden Hazard and gun striker Romelu Lukaku fairly ineffective. Tip: Belgium 2-1.

Korea

In a match where both sides are relatively unknown, this match could go either way. However, based on the performances of their respective opening matches, I think Algeria may have the edge over their Asian opponents. Sofiane Feghouli, Algeria’s star midfielder and a goal-threat, should cause some headaches for the Koreans. My tip: 1-0 to Algeria.
TIM CARRIER
A must-win game for both sides if they are to have any hope of progressing past the group stage in Brazil. Algeria aren’t as bad as you might think but I still fancy South Korea in this one and I’ll back them to take the points 2-1.
SIMON TENNANT
Both teams need to win to stay in contention in Group H. Algeria should stuggle against the fleet-footed Koreans, who held Russia to a draw in their first-round match. I expect both thes teams to fail to move through to the round of 16, but have Korea just ahead in this game. Tip: Korea 1-0.
