Death is universal and anthropologists and historians have much to tell us about how death was regarded in earlier civilisations.
In The Border Mail (Friday, July 25), Waleed Aly presents an article which makes us think about how we see death in our society.
He compares our reactions to the loss of life when the airliner was shot down over Ukraine, deaths due to family violence, vehicle crashes and the loss of human life during war.
Perhaps it is time to have our educated society do some research into the acceptance of death rather than always resorting to hocus-pocus about the subject and finding someone to blame.
