THURGOONA sharpshooter Sam Cross is in contention to win the Bulldogs’ first Barton medal at the league’s best and fairest count tonight.
Cross has been sensational since joining the club from Ovens and Murray powerhouse Albury, with the right-footer kicking 73 goals during the home and away series.
Wahgunyah’s Nick Brockley also has claims after winning the league’s goalkicking award with 77 majors.
Lion coach Nic O’Bryan, Mitta United trio Jarrod and Tyson Gorupic and Nathan Reynoldson, Barnawartha’s Cameron McNeill, Bomber youngster Elliott Powell and Yackandandah’s Trent Castles are others in the mix. Bulldog Lucas Mellier and Wodonga Saint Craig Lieschke could feature prominently.
