We have had both of our children educated at Talgarno and go onto Tallangatta Secondary; we are grateful to have a primary school close to our home.
The students learn lifelong skills by attending a small primary school, such as working and playing with students of all ages; when on excursions they look after one another, the older students look out for the younger ones, the life skill of a community at work.
The students get a better student-teacher ratio and can receive more attention if needed; something hard to achieve in larger class sizes of large primary schools.
The use of trainee teachers for work experience gives the students fresh ideas and strategies on an almost one-to-one ratio.
Excursions to Albury-Wodonga give the students access to the same facilities as Wodonga students.
Keep up the good work Talgarno, Australia needs small communities with compassion for others.
