The band will perform on the Friday night at next year’s event, which will run from April 9 to 12.
Chairman Andrew Getzendorfer said there were other performers organisers wanted to fill the Saturday night slot to be announced.
“We’re just trying to freshen things up and keep it new,” he said.
“We’ve listened to our customers who said bigger name musicians would be welcomed and gone down that track.”
Co-ordinator Jenny Boardman said the event would be held on the 100-year anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign.
The festival will pay tribute to the North East’s contribution to the Light Horse Brigade, which played an important role at Gallipoli.
“The Banjo Paterson re-enactment is also going to be a huge event this year,” she said.
“We’ve got a new team of people working on it.
“It’s also going to be the 20th anniversary of the Man from Snowy River Challenge, which is an event we’re very proud of, and we’ll also be hosting the Australian Bush Poetry Championships.
“It’s going to be a great event.”
