But for the members of the Henty and District Antique Farm Machinery Club, it’s a case of the older and simpler, the better.
The club displayed tractors and machinery, some of which was up to a century old.
Wagga member Peter Shields has spent the last eight years collecting and restoring old engines following his retirement.
“They just go on and on forever,” he said.
“It’s a good hobby and I’ve got about 60 engines at home.
“I had a fair bit to do with them when I was younger, and since I’ve retired I’ve got nothing better to do so I’ve got back into them.
“Most of them aren’t really that valuable — about $400 or $500 — but you do get some that are worth quite a lot.”
Mr Shields brought an antique Lister J engine, which was built in 1916, to put on display.
