The group, replete with Hawaiian shirts, greeted seniors arriving at the The Cube for a concert by country music star James Blundell, which officially kicked off the month-long program of events.
The theatre was packed out as Blundell delighted the audience and the show was followed by a free morning tea.
This year’s program has more than 150 activities throughout October, including more than 25 additions.
Activities include mystery bus tours, how-to classes, high teas and live shows.
Wodonga mayor Rod Wangman, who opened the celebrations yesterday, said the program was designed to recognise the rich contribution seniors made to the community.
“Our seniors’ wisdom, passion for Wodonga and dedication to making it a great place to live is remarkable,” he said.
“This year is one of our biggest program yet, with everything from shopping to musical shows, historical tours and dragon boat paddling ... there really is something for everyone.”
