A veteran of 220 senior Ovens and Murray matches, Hedley also coached Yackandandah to a flag in 2000 before heading to Melbourne for work.
Last week the left footer was at his best in the Vic Metro 50-55 side at the Australian national footy carnival — taking out the age group’s best and fairest along with giving some of the Border boys a touch up along the way.
Hedley still makes cameos for the Border’s Murray Crays when they play closer to Melbourne. Not to be outdone, Crays teammates Wayne Schilg, Rob Shoebridge, Steve Anderson and Adrian Williams tasted success in winning the 35s as part of the Vic Country team.
