Wodonga Council recreation officer Liona Edwards injured her knee four years ago and will be riding her bike on National Ride2Work Day tomorrow.
She said she cycles to work twice a month and it has proven to be beneficial for more than just her knee.
“I was told cycling would be good rehab for my knee because it has minimal impact and I have just increased from there,” she said.
“Now I cycle and ride on weekends too.
“It is fun, free, good for the environment and it connects you with the community.”
For the fifth year, Wodonga Council and Healthy Together Wodonga will promote Ride2Work day by offering free cooked breakfast, coffee vouchers, massages and bike safety checks.
There will also be free bike lockers, information on common cycling injuries and advice from Back on Track physiotherapists.
About 50 people are expected to attend the event, which will take place at The Cube courtyard tomorrow from 6.30am to 9.30am.
