The youth, 14, appeared for sentencing in Albury Children’s Court through a video link from the Reiby juvenile detention centre.
Magistrate Tony Murray imposed a 12-month control order with a minimum of five months.
The sentence began on August 6 when the youth was arrested by police and expires on January 5.
At the time of the Corowa robbery, the youth was on parole for an armed robbery on the Newmarket Store in East Albury earlier this year.
The youth was released on parole on July 24 after serving a sentence for the East Albury robbery on February 23, during which he brandished a knife and stole money and cigarettes.
A bail application was made on behalf of the youth in early September, but it was rejected by Mr Murray and he has remained on remand.
Police said he had a 30-page criminal history, 14 breaches of bail and was likely to commit further offences if released.
