Noreuil Park is one of Albury’s best assets and is something that will create a lot of interest and patronage by Albury people, and increase tourist numbers.
The whole atmosphere with the magnificent greenery with trees alongside the flowing waters of the mighty Murray right in the heart of the city, is something we all need to fully appreciate and promote all year round.
Maybe this would be the best site for a tribute statue-sculpture of Hume and Hovell — something this city has needed from its historical beginnings.
I think it would be appropriate for the entrance’s “Noreuil Park” overhead name board and stone arch supports to be re-introduced.
This imagery once looked very eye-catching and a good indicator for visitors to the city, and a much better marker than the nondescript direction finders there now.
Also, the monster flag pole is more of a curiosity than it is an enhancement.
