The Hume Boat Club meeting will see more than 30 boats from across the nation competing in a series of races, some limited to speed brackets, others open ended.
The races have a maximum of six boats with a running start past Scotchman’s Point, Bellbridge, to Bethanga Bridge and racing around four buoys on a 1500-metre circuit.
Club spokesman Richard Cleaver said it was an outstanding turnout for racing now attracting attention along the eastern seaboard.
“The race meetings were originally organised to allow local boat owners to enjoy their sport without having to travel huge distances, and to use the brilliant facilities we have on the Border,” he said.
“Since the first race meeting with six boats the event has grown with boats and drivers coming from Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and everywhere in between.
“This is the biggest yet with more than 30 boats.”
Cleaver said the event was based on speed bracketed circuit racing.
“The current brackets are 70, 80, 90kmh and unlimited with races for F1 & 2 and Hydroplanes,” he said.
Racing starts at 10.30am with the boat club open for a gold coin donation to the Albury and Border Rescue Squad.
Scotchman’s Point is also open.
