Among those taking to the floor tonight will be Heather and Barry Jackson, of Corowa, former competitive dancers who were runners-up in a senior world championship during the 1980s.
The couple retired to Corowa more than four years ago and have renewed their interest in dancing with others in the region.
Mr and Mrs Jackson will be among 11 couples who comprise a formation dance team which has been rehearsing New Vogue and Latin American dances for a display at the Corowa Memorial Hall tonight from 7.15pm after a free wine and cheese tasting and fashion parade from 6pm.
Square dancing will also begin today at the Corowa Golf Club with Melbourne square dance caller Peter Humphries.
Corowa Visitor Information Centre manager Rachel Robinson-Minogue said while it was too late to buy tickets for the festival ball tomorrow night there were tickets available for all other dances.
A demonstration of dance will be held from 9am to 1pm tomorrow in Sanger St, followed by a children’s belly dance workshop from 1pm at the Corowa RSL Club.
There will be a guided winery tour from 1.30pm tomorrow while square dancing entertainment at the Corowa Golf Club begins tomorrow at 1pm and at 7.30pm.
Mrs Jackson said there was a great opportunity to learn a new dance style on Sunday morning from former Australian dance champions Andrea and John Barwick from 10am.
