Popular in the 1970s, the laissez-faire style reflected the era: peace, love and no war.
But its reinvention this season is more power than flower, edgier with a street sense: bikinis in the classic traingle are back, with a geometric print, not the flirty fringes halter of its forebears.
Swimsuits in general are sharp and simple, all about the fabric and the comfort.
Ikat, fabric made using an Indonesian decorative technique in which warp or weft threads, or both, are tie-dyed before weaving, is paying homage to the best Asian beaches.
And don’t forget the accessories: beach hair is long, messy and with lots of cool waves (great for us curly girls)!
Add a big floppy hat in raffia, and lots of cool rings, bands, earrings in silver, leather and stones. And rock bohemia!
