The Panthers bundled their opponents out for a meagre 90 runs in the 50th over with two direct hits and some outstanding bowling from Nathan Brown proving too much for the shell-shocked home team.
Brown grabbed 5-19 in 14.5 overs while Tom Hargreave took 2-11.
Lavington fell into early trouble in the chase at 3-30 before Andrew Mackinlay (30 not out) and Hargreave (11 not out) steadied the ship to take the Panthers to 3-61 at stumps.
Coach Robbie Mackinlay said it was a strong performance.
“I thought our fielding in particular was really good,” Mackinlay said.
“The boys put the pressure on and got the rewards.
“We need to back it up with the bat now.”
Lavington, who lost a thriller to Tallangatta last weekend, will regain No. 1 batsman Sam Harris from Riverina representative duties next weekend.
Wodonga should continue on its winning way after taking the honours on day one against New City at Urana Road Oval.
The Phoenix could only manage 144 after winning the toss at batting with opener Mitch O’Brien — the only batsman to offer resistance with a plucky 77.
Beau Kennedy and Brad Dalbosco took three wickets each. Wodonga will resume at 0-11.
St Patrick’s will defend 9-266 against Belvoir at Xavier Oval.
The Patties’ top-order turned in a far more consistent performance with Jon Shaw hitting out late with a quickfire 49 not out to put a competitive score on the board.
Grant Gardiner (55), Nick Flood (30) and Grant Ellis (25) also batted well.
East Albury holds the aces against Albury after making 8-304 at Alexandra Park.
Although both sides were missing key players, the Crows piled on the run through the efforts of hard-hitting Alex Popko (78) and Joel Shepherd (72).
Young gun Caleb Barras also underlined his talent with 42 at the top of the order.
