Dixon made the most of his promotion up the batting order by blasting 132 not out as the visitors reeled in their target of 144 with ease before pushing on to make 7-302.

It was Dixon’s first century in six years after making a ton for Wodonga Raiders against SS and A.

“It was good to make a few,” Dixon said.

“‘Jacko’ (Robbie Jackson) is big on everyone playing their role and I just tried to make the most of the opportunity to go up the order.

“We were 4-70 when I came in and I thought Cooper Garoni batted really well for his 67.”

Tonkin dislocated a finger taking a catch in Friday night’s Big Bash competition at Lavington Oval and will be sidelined until mid-January.

Wodonga was under pressure early in the run chase against some tight bowling from Doulton Langlands, Ryan McGrath and Darcy I’Anson but cut loose after tea with Dixon smashing five sixes and seven boundaries.

“We only really got on top after tea,” Dixon said.

“New City bowled well early.”

Tallangatta belted Wodonga Raiders by 262 runs at Birallee Park.

In a huge turnaround from the opening round of the season, the Bushies dominated from the outset with Sam Stephens and James Weighell bundling the home team out for 69 in reply to their score of 331.

Stephens and Weighell grabbed seven wickets between them. Wodonga Raiders were sent back in and finished at 3-83 at stumps.

Lavington defeated North Albury by five wickets at Bunton Park.

The Hoppers were on the back foot after being dismissed for 90 on day one and Andrew Mackinlay (43) and Josh Jones (31) guided the visitors to 145 in reply.

David Farrell made 59 in North Albury’s second innings of 9-140 with spinner Will Heriot grabbing 5-14.
