The exhibition, titled 3 X 25, opened on Friday and refers to three generations of women — her grandmother, herself and her daughter.
Patterson said 25 years separated the three generations of women in her family, who were each born in a different country.
“Inherent in families is the flow of genes, habits and elemental characteristics from mothers to daughters, yet the individual applies them in their own way,” she said.
“Creativeness, courage, adaptability, optimism, tenacity and the willpower to utilise their talents are common traits in my female inheritance.
“These works are interpretations of a journey through space and time from Lithuania, Germany, Austria and within Australia.”
The exhibition is on display at Beechworth’s George Kerferd Hotel, Mayday Hills until January 26.
