Bowlers from Paradise Point in Queensland, Sydney, Canberra, Bendigo, Echuca and Melbourne, competed along with local teams.
Dylan Fisher headed the top-class field and claimed the major prizemoney, being a key component of the only unbeaten team.
He combined with two of his best friends, Ryan Bevis and Mathew O’Brien, to amass 79 shots up in the six games played over two days.
Fisher has impressive credentials, having won the world junior championship, the national champion of champion singles and the Australian open pairs.
He teamed with O’Brien to win the Victorian under-18 pairs for three successive years.
New Zealander Rowan Brassey was another competing in the event.
He has won two world titles and represented his country for 25 years.
Brassey has been successful with more than 200 district and club titles and nine New Zealand championships, but he finished out of the major prizemoney, only managing a game prize.
An Alexandra team of Ken Argent, Mark Simmons and skip Graeme Mathews finished in second place with five wins and plus 34 shots.
The Shepparton team of Denis McHarry, Mal Williams and Ricky Orchard was third with five wins and plus 30 shots.
Henty’s Bruce Whitlock, Mick Broughan and Peter Forck finished in fourth place with four wins and a draw.
But their margin was just six shots as each of their games were extremely close.
Three of them were decided on the last bowl.
The fifth place prizemoney was won by Wodonga’s Chris Bird, Klive Liverton and Bob Harbridge with four wins.
