His only argument is to say all the country’s problems are caused by previous governments and his government is the only way.
I found it alarming when he responded to the human rights report on children in detention by blaming it all on the previous governments and criticising the author (Gillian Triggs).
Nothing about the issue of children in detention and what the government was doing to end the problem, outside of that this government had “stopped the boats”.
I was appalled to hear the response from Senator Eric Abetz, the government leader in Senate.
He responded to a question from Greens’ Senator Sarah Hanson-Young by castigating the author and saying nothing about the issues of children in detention.
If this is the government we have, 2015 will be a shameful year.
