I READ with interest plans of both mayors of Albury and Wodonga wanting their cities to get bigger, even when they know that there is not enough employment and housing and already the hospitals are stretched to their limits.

The government most certainly hasn’t the cash to build new ones, or has any intentions of doing so.
I also wonder do these two mayors realise that the citizens of Albury and Wodonga may not wish to get any bigger, just to appease the egos of a couple of mayors, making more problems for police and congestion on already overtaxed roads.
They also want families from Sydney and Melbourne to settle on the Border.
Do they really think the best families will come here, leaving work to come to no employment at all?
It will give a bigger headache to already overworked police trying to control drugs and crime in general.
Mayors, wake up or get out of your cosy position into the real world. You’re there to serve the people.
If one was to put the question to the public, I bet there would be an answer of even getting smaller.
