THE roar of speedway engines will ring out across the Kiewa Valley tomorrow with a 16-race program at the Tawonga track.

The 970-metre, kidney-shaped track that dates back to 1972 will see speeds of up to 150km/h along the back straight.
Rhys Collins is expected to have his hands full in the ever-growing sports sedans with organisers suggesting as many as 30 small block V8s and six- cylinder cars, including interstate entries, will do battle.
The junior standard saloons have kids coming from all over Victoria and NSW with Mount Beauty’s Cooper Cappellari and Jack Bear, also from the North East, flying the flag against the visitors.
Spokeswoman Alyce Iaria said the action doesn’t stop there.
“The open ladies division has showcased some fierce competition over the past few meetings and eight woman have nominated,” she said.
“Finally local standard saloon racers will be challenging Warrick Howie with interstate drivers and a couple from Wangaratta and Wahgunyah expected to provide real competition.”
Racing begins at midday.
Adults will pay $15 to get in with under-14s free.
The club will next race over the Easter weekend.
