MARCUS “Motor” McMillan has been a great servant of the YFNC but has now reluctantly decided to hang up his boots with the Ovens & Murray. With his own personal commitments of a growing family and a busy electrical business, Marcus knows it is now the right time to focus on these two important aspects of his life.

His playing career is not unsurpassed to other great players in the Pigeon history book and he’s not known as “Motor” for nothing, he has been a power house for the club. He came across to join the Pigeon Coup from Strathmerton in 2003, and apart from half a season in the SANFL with West Adelaide in 2006 and a couple of seasons in Cairns during 2008 and 2009 he has forged a great 11 year career until 2014.
Marcus has:
* played 177 games for the YFNC,
* been a driving force in three premierships (2006, 2012, 2013),
* awarded Best in Finals for 2012,
* played in seven grand finals and has been a Club Best and Fairest.
“Marcus has certainly given his all and gone beyond for the YFNC”, Drew Barnes Co-Coach said, “It’s been a pleasure to have worked closely with Marcus not only as coach but also as a team player, and although he may not be playing he’ll still be around the club as he is a great role model especially to our younger players”.
YFNC is now looking forward to seeing these younger players step up to fill the hole he will be leaving. There’s a great pool coming through including:
Ricky Barnes, Matt Irvine, Matt Gorman, Marcus and Travis Hargreaves, Mitch Collins-Bye, Beau Seymour, Brady Pritchard, Jakey Adkins, Mark Athanitis, Bronson Schofield, Damon Symes, Logan Morey, Mark McQualter and Matt Tregenza.
The club is also excited about new recruits Jordan Daniels, Jessie Koopman, Luke Congram, and Braden Mitchell who will be exciting additions to the Club.
