More than 1000 people headed to Wahgunyah for Pfeiffer Wines’ inaugural food, wine and music festival, which followed on from the Tastes of Rutherglen weekend.
“These events are absolutely essential from an economical point of view because it attracts a lot of tourism,” festival music co-ordinator Dave Daly said.
“Also there are families relaxing enjoying the live music and it’s something for them to experience.
“It’s something for the towns around that don’t always have a lot of facilities.”
Mr Daly said the event was more successful than first anticipated.
“We got to a point where we nearly had no seats left,” he said.
Visitors basked in the sun while listening to folk, blues, country, rock, blue grass and indie music.
“We really wanted to see it take off and it’s everything we imagined,” Mr Daly said.
