NSW finance and services minister Dominic Perrottet yesterday inspected facilities and met with staff at the site yesterday, but there were no ribbons cut, plaques unveiled or celebratory cakes to mark the occasion.
Pre-election caretaker mode prevented the minister performing an official opening of the centre which will be home to Roads and Maritime and NSW Fair Trading services, as well as the provision of birth, death and marriage certificates and fishing and contractor licences.

Dedicated parking spaces have been allocated in the car park adjoining the service centre, while customers for the centre could also use the multi-deck car park.
Six new jobs have been created in the establishment of Service NSW and the centre will have extended opening times.
It will be open Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and on Saturday from 8.30am to 3pm.
Mr Perrottet said Service NSW had been one of the government’s “success stories”.
“We inherited a convoluted mess when it came to service delivery,” he said. “We had over 800 different websites, 1000 different phone numbers, just for your inconvenience.
“We’ve rolled all that into a one-stop shop.”
The minister said the customer satisfaction rating at almost 30 similar service centres across the state had topped 98 per cent.
Corowa and Tumbarumba shire offices are also part of the Service NSW network.
