AN unbeaten Rodney Wurtz steered Forrest Hill Cats into the Albury Tennis Association’s section one men’s grand final with a dominant display against club mates Galahs on Saturday.

Wurtz was outstanding for the victors with support from Michael McMahon and Ephraim Mitchell.
David Kozor was a two-set winner for Galahs.
Andrew Healy helped St Patricks-Diggerville to victory over Forrest Hill Blues.
In the ladies, top-of-the-table Forrest Hill defeated Wodonga and will meet Glenly who accounted for Thurgoona.
The match of the day in Saturday’s semi final action was the clash between Sacred Heart and Albury Blue in section two men.
After grabbing fourth spot, Sacred Heart was desperately unlucky to dip out in a tie break against their higher ranked opponents after the match was locked up at four sets 48 games each.
The feisty Damian Chomatek played well for the Heart while throughout the day while Ron Turton and Ian Llewelyn dug deep for Albury Blue to clinch the deciding tiebreaker.
In the other semi-final, Albury Gold found themselves down 3-1 before hitting top gear against Forrest Hill Diggers.
Graeme Barned and Cameron Scholz completed excellent singles wins before combining with Paul Grover and Mark Cowie to close out the match.
Ross Graetz and Ashley Wurtz were best for Diggers.
A three-set haul from Sam Chant set up Thurgoona Bronze’s 4-2 triumph over Glenly in section two ladies.
Jodi Pratt, Raquel Wood and Chantelle Brown also lent support while Barbara Martin was best.
Albury were comfortable winners over Uiver Park in the other match.
There were two one-sided matches in section three men with Albury/East and Sacred Heart never threatened over East Albury and Glenly Blue.
In the ladies, Scots Squirrels rallied from an early deficit to finish with the bragging rights over Smashes.
Honours were even early before Scots Sloths took control to finish 5-1 winners over SPD Green with Isabella Simmonds and Rebecca Evans unbeaten.
A team effort by Will Holmes, Jashan Ramjee and Lachie Bulle saw Scots Blue in front when it mattered against Forrest Hill Hawks in their Section 4 encounter.
