In the most recent incident, an empty grey trailer was stolen from the rear of a home in Jones Street on Thursday.
Acting Inspector Angus Longley said people needed to make sure they properly secured their trailers.
“If they can’t put them in a locked garage, they should padlock them to an immovable object,” he said.
“They can also put a wheel clamp on the trailer to secure it.”
Owners should also avoid parking trailers on the side of the road or in front of their homes.
People are encouraged to take note of any suspicious activity, paying attention to the appearance of anyone involved and the vehicle they are driving, and report it to police or Crime Stoppers.
