Fifty poll Hereford bulls were offered, with 47 sold to a top of $22,000, an average of $5946.81, generating a gross of $279,500 and a clearance rate of 98 per cent.
There were six female lots — PTIC breeders — for a clearance of 100 per cent to a top of $1800, an average of $1560 and a gross of $7800.
Another 25 female lots — PTIC — also achieved a 100 per cent clearance to a top of $1475, an average of $1412.50 and a gross of $31,075.
Two embryos were offered, with one selling, for $1000.
All up, 75 of the 77 lots offered were sold, for a 97 per cent clearance rate, a top of $22,000 and a gross of $319,375
PRIME Angus Stud, near Benalla, also achieved outstanding results with its ninth annual yearling bull sale on-property on February 27.
The sale was conducted by Helmsman auction.
The stud achieved a 100 per cent clearance rate.
A total of 35 bulls sold to a top of $8000, for an average of $3,602.86 and a gross of $126,100.
By comparison, 30 bulls were offered at last year’s on-property sale for a clearance rate of 97 per cent.
