IT hasn’t been an ideal start to the season for Twin City and its coach Harry Wilhelm.

After two losses to start the season, Wilhelm said another loss against Boomers at Glen Park tomorrow would put the defending league champions a long way behind where he thinks they should be.
“We’ve got the cattle on the park to be in the top three or four in the competition,” he said.
“It takes a little bit of time to gel.
“Yes, we’re disappointed with the results, but we’re playing good football.
“We can make changes, but in reality we’re happy with the way we’re playing, we’re just not scoring goals.”
The return of Cayne Wilhelm and Tommy Sanhaboa would be important in the coming weeks, Harry Wilhelm said, but they would be held back until they proved their fitness.
“Tommy was having back spasms on Sunday when he played, so we had limited use of him,” he said.
“Obviously with Cayne not playing, one of the reserve guys has to come up into the team.
“But our depth is a good thing, our thirds and seconds will be in the top two or three without a doubt — they’re very strong squads — so we know when we bring someone in, we’re getting a quality player.”
With Twin City missing a chunk of last year’s starting line-up due to the formation of Murray United, Wilhelm said the players left at the club were still finding their feet with their new team-mates.
“Last year we were scoring early and starting games very well.
“I think the three or four left over are feeling that pressure to perform to that standard, which in turn reverberates through the whole side.”
Despite all the talk about their form, Wilhelm said getting a win on the board was still hugely important.
“If we don’t win this weekend we’ll be three games behind some clubs, and facing a tough run after Easter,” he said.
“We’ve got Myrtleford after the break, and we haven’t played Wangaratta yet, so we’ll wait and see how we go with that.
“At the end of the day though, we’d prefer that teams worried about us than us worry about other teams.
“Our philosophy is to try and push to win games, and that’s where we’ve been caught out a bit in the past few weeks.”
