Stars of the Border Dance for Cancer is being held for the second year after raising $30,000 at its inaugural event.
McGlone, a journalist, has stepped up to the challenge.
“I was conned by a work colleague,” he said.
“But I believe in the cause itself and I have been involved previously through Relay for Life.
“We all know someone who has had cancer or been touched by cancer in some way.”
McGlone, who will be partnered by Wangaratta dancer Debbie Ravida, said he would not reveal his dance style until the night, but described it as “spectacular”.
“People should expect nothing less than a brilliant performance,” he said.
The River FM 105.7 breakfast show host Luisa Pelizzari and her former co-host Kev Poulton are also competing.
Other stars include Star FM breakfast duo Tom Bainbridge and Olly Morris, Prime7 News reporter Teegan Dolling, Albury Tigers Football Netball club netballer and coach Caroline McCowan and Lady Bandits basketballer Montana Farrah-Seaton.
McGlone is hoping to beat both Pelizzari and Poulton, who is partnered by the winner of last year’s event, Albury-Wodonga Dance Centre teacher Bronwyn Robertson.
Cancer Council community relations co-ordinator Annabel Ryan said it would be night full of laughs and entertainment.
Tickets for the event are $50 and can be bought from the Albury Tourist Information centre.
