As David Letterman prepares to end his 33-year tenure as the kingpin of late night television, the stars continue to line up to pay tribute to the host.
Billy Crystal on Tuesday's broadcast announced he couldn't put into words his admiration for Letterman, so instead launched into a musical tribute.
The musical number traversed through Letterman's personal and professional life, from referencing his bypass surgery "proving you actually had a heart" through to mentioning Madonna's swearing and Drew Barrymore flashing her breasts.
The tribute, set to the tune of Sunrise, Sunset from 1964 musical Fiddler on the Roof, also included a jibe at the current array of late-night hosts.
"Now late nights' jammed with all the Jimmys, they're just princes, you're the king."
Just left Letterman. Wonderful night. Will miss him badly. A most important touchstone for me. The best place to be funny. #thanksdave— Billy Crystal (@BillyCrystal) April 14, 2015
Network CBS announced earlier this week the A-list extravaganza ahead before 68-year-old Letterman departs, with guests including George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Tina Fey and Jerry Seinfeld.
Stephen Colbert takes over the reins in September.
