A letter sent to members last month has urged them to support the 69-year-old club before it is too late.
The letter said: “You may or may not be aware of just how quiet business has been of late and, although our membership numbers are the highest we have seen (800+), the number of active members would be at its lowest.
“Overheads in a business of this size, operating seven days, are high and non-variable.
“It has become increasingly difficult to meet the quarterly electronic gaming machine entitlement payments, with the “pokies” being so under-utilised, and although we have a strong responsible gambling policy, an increase in “recreational play” is vital.
“If you, the members, don’t utilise your club, it has no future.
“We cannot do it alone and stress the urgency of this situation.
“Please don’t sit back and rely on others. Only your support can return the club to the thriving community hub it once was.”
Club manager Shirley Hall said there had already been a noticeable increase in patronage since the letter had sent out.
“We want the members to have the opportunity to do something before it’s too late,” she said.
“Just one more drink, a meal, or a flutter a week from people could turn it all around because every little bit helps.
“We want to get on top of this because we are cautious about the club’s financial situation.”
Mrs Hall said the club was looking to implement some new ideas in an effort to lift patronage.
“We will be introducing Foxtel, so we can have AFL games live and we are also looking at having more happy hours during the quiet times of the week,” she said.
