Corowa’s Lorraine Lear was one of those bargain hunters who picked up a Norah Jones CD for $2.
“It was a great day out and I was on the lookout for CDs and artwork,” she said.
“I did go home with quite a few bargains and had some lovely chats with the locals.”
Ms Lear prepared for the cold weather, taking along a thermos full of coffee.
Jindera’s Kath Pugh saw the sale as an opportunity to clear out her house in preparation for “downsizing” and moving to Lavington.
Meanwhile, members of the community pitched in to hold a fundraising barbecue and raffle for Jindera’s Archie Mahon.
Archie, 19 months, was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma.
Kerrilee Pitcher and Fiona Brown, who helped with the event, said the community was “very generous”, raising $1328.
IGA Jindera donated sausages and bread, Jindera Bakery donated rolls, Arnold’s Fruit Market Wodonga provided onions and The Health Store in Lavington donated bottles of water, while Jindera resident Jo Dawson and Jindera Football Club donated soft drinks.
High On Ink Wodonga supplied a trailer load of wood, as well as a tattoo voucher for the raffle.
The next fundraiser for Archie will be a movie night at Albury’s Regent Cinemas on Thursday at 6.30pm.
