The 2015 Chamber Business Awards were launched in style last night at Hollywoods Wodonga, and this year it’s even easier to enter.
Awards’ steering committee chairman David Koschitzke said the entry process had been simplified so much of it could be done online.
The categories were also streamlined to match with the NSW business awards, which means winners from the Border’s competition would be able to move onto the regional awards — and hopefully the state finals.
Wodonga Chamber of Commerce leadership team member Graham Jenkin said the awards were a great chance for the Border businesses to showcase their efforts.
“Every year you learn something new about the businesses in the area, including finding places that you never knew existed,” he said.
Albury Northside Chamber of Commerce chairman Phil Clements said they wanted to “celebrate the successes and acknowledge the hard work of local businesses.
“Albury-Wodonga is a great place to live and an even better place to do business,” he said.
“And despite the potential negative external influences (on the economy), there are lots of businesses pushing onwards and upwards.”
Entries close on May 22, with judging to take place in June and the awards’ presentation to be held on July 17 at The Cube.
