He is now recruiting an army of young people to get involved.
Mr Kuzeff, 25, has spent years raising money to build a village on Bantayan Island but has now realised how the project can help students.
The former Wodonga Senior Secondary College student has launched Our Connection, hoping to reduce poverty and boost the mental state of youngsters.
Yesterday Mr Kuzeff and work partner Will Slater inspired students at Wodonga Senior Secondary College and James Fallon High School to join their venture.
Students who embark on the trip in January will have to raise $5000 before travelling, which will build one house for six to eight people.
“Physically putting in the bricks and connecting with the family makes it more powerful,” Mr Kuzeff said.
“We want to show kids they can make a difference and that they are worthwhile.”
Wodonga Senior Secondary College student engagement co-ordinator Sarah Kilner hoped to integrate the trip into the school’s graduate program.
“Daniel is an ex-student and that is fostering the reality for kids that they can be like them and they can take on big projects,” she said.
Mr Kuzeff and Mr Slater are also looking for support from the community to make the trip possible for students who otherwise would not get the opportunity.
