Albury Court was told that Naylor had been swerving over both lanes of the freeway.
Naylor stopped just off the emergency lane and another motorist who witnessed his driving stopped his car about 9.30pm on December 11.
He approached the driver’s door of Naylor’s car, opened it and was greeted by a strong smell of alcohol.
The motorist removed the keys from the ignition, put them on the floor and called police.
Police were quickly on the scene, found Naylor was asleep in the driver’s seat and banged loudly on his window.
They had no success in rousing him so they opened the door and phyically woke him.
When the officers asked for his licence, Nyalor said nothing.
He appeared dazed.
His eyes were bloodshot, he did not seem to comprehend and said: “Where am I?”
He was told Albury in NSW and when another request was made for his licence, Naylor handed over his wallet.
There was no licence in it and a police check revealed his Victorian licence was suspended.
A later breath analysis carried out on Naylor provided a blood alcohol reading of 0.153.
Naylor, 55, of Newton, did not appear in Albury Local Court yesterday on charges of high-range drink-driving and driving when suspended.
But solicitor Allison Bruce entered pleas of guilty to both charges of his behalf.
Ms Bruce said Naylor is in New Zealand at present.
Magistrate Tony Murray said there were factors of aggravation with Naylor’s driving, ordered a pre-sentence report and adjourned sentencing until September 22.
