The Blues have started the season 4-0 while the Swans suffered their first loss when a severely depleted line-up proved no match for Bullioh last week.
After losing to the Bulldogs, Federal can ill afford to drop consecutive matches if it wants to secure the prized double chance for the finals.
Swans coach Jack Neil is expecting his line-up to improve on last week’s performance.
“While it was disappointing to lose last week, we have been riddled by injuries and had a very young, inexperienced group,” he said.
“I was still pretty happy with the effort — Bullioh is still a good team and gave us a bit of a reality check.
“I think Cudgewa and Bullioh remain the two heavyweights and it’s up to us to bridge the gap.
“Cudgewa remains the standout with its good mix of running players and plenty of options in attack.
“If we have any lapses and missed opportunities like last week, we will pay the price.”
Neil said curbing the influence of the Blues’ multi-pronged attack, comprising Brendan McEvoy, Ben Hall and Bill Deery, was the key to springing an upset victory.
The trio have started the season in impressive fashion, especially McEvoy, who has booted 28 goals to lead the goalkicking table.
The Swans were missing Neil, Jacob Collins and Hayden Tyrell and will be sweating on their return if they are to spring such an upset.
Tumbarumba will be too strong for Corryong and Bullioh faces a danger match against a rejuvenated Border-Walwa.
The Magpies rediscovered that winning feeling last week and will be desperate to taste it again at their home ground.
