In a huge blow to the Tigers’ big-man stocks, the former Richmond and Adelaide player is moving to Melbourne and will play with Essendon and District Football League club Aberfeldie.
Graham, 28, has been sidelined since tearing his posterior cruciate ligament and calf muscle in a ruck contest against Corowa-Rutherglen in round 2 at Albury Sportsground, and was on track to return from injury early next month.
“Angus wants to explore further employment opportunities in Melbourne,” Albury co-coach Chris Hyde said.
“Hopefully it works out for him.
“We are fortunate to still have some good options in the ruck.”
Graham could not be contacted for comment yesterday.
Albury has successfully covered the absence of Graham by using Aisake and Setanta o’hAilpin, Will Haberecht and Will Smith in the ruck, while defender Jay Koehler shapes as another long-term option after being called into the senior team last night.
Koehler made his comeback from a hamstring injury in the reserves last weekend after being hurt in round 2.
Meanwhile, former Melbourne speedster Aaron Davey will play for Wodonga Raiders against Yarrawonga tomorrow.
Davey was named last night in the Raiders’ line-up to make a one-off appearance, with the lively forward’s pace set to worry the Pigeons, particularly with Ross Tungatalum returning to the team for the first time since April 25.
Todd Grayson could also be a late inclusion after being named in the emergencies.
Yarrawonga has been forced to make wholesale changes with Brendan Fevola and Ed Bayles unavailable and Brandon Symes, Scott Oswald and Jake Koopman joining the injured list.
They were replaced by Xavier Leslie, Marcus Hargreaves, Chris Irvine, Riley Welsh and Matt Dwyer.
