They will meet at Benalla to preselect a candidate to contest the seat of Indi at the next federal election.
Former Indi MP Sophie Mirabella, businessman Kevin Ekendahl and anaesthetist Andrew Walpole, are vying for the candidacy.
Naturally much attention has centred on Mrs Mirabella, after she lost the seat to independent Cathy McGowan at the 2013 election.
A question for many preselectors will be what has Mrs Mirabella learnt from that experience and how it has changed her outlook to representation.
For the others, there will be queries about what they can offer the Liberal’s Indi cause, besides being fresh faces.
Whoever is nominated will face a strong contest.
The Nationals will participate, Labor has a familiar name in Wodonga councillor Eric Kerr and incumbent independent Cathy McGowan will recontest.
To borrow from two old movies, tomorrow will determine whether the Liberals go back to the future with Mrs Mirabella or the sliding doors of fate open to Mr Ekendahl or Mr Walpole.
