The various singles championship winners from the six districts will be competing.
There are three sections with the open singles, senior singles and state president’s reserve singles.
Each of the winners will advance to the state play-offs at Ettalong in October.
Álbury and District singles champion Kim Maher (Henty) will play a preliminary round on Saturday against the Southern Highlands champion Tim Crampton (Tumut RSL).
The winner of that game advances to a semi-final on Sunday morning against Wagga’s Brett White.
Cliff Traynor (Young) won the South West district singles and meets Peter Jones (Riverina) in the other preliminary round.
The winner goes through to a semi-final against the Southern Slopes champion Bruce Lack (Temora Bowling and Rec).
Norm Honey (North Albury) is representing Albury in the senior singles and is drawn against South West’s Geoff Holt on Saturday.
The winner goes through to a semi-final against Ed Kelleher, from Southern Slopes.
Riverina’s Pasquale Trimboli plays Graeme Rossiter, the Southern Highlands representative, on Saturday, with the winner going through to meet Wagga’s Noel O’Brien in a semi-final.
Ron Bonat (Oaklands) is representing Albury and District in the president’s reserve singles. He plays David Townsend (Riverina) on Saturday for the right to meet Will Rees (Southern Slopes) in a semi-final.
Sam Larsen (South West) plays Richard Erkelens (South Highlands) in a preliminary game.
The winner goes through to a semi-final against Darren Peak (Wagga).
The pairs championships in the same three categories will be played on July 18 and 19; the triples are on August 8 and 9, with the fours play-offs on August 15 and 16.
