With its 2005 premiership side looking on, the Panthers made light work of the opposition with 35 scoring shots to nine underlining their dominance.
Nick Meredith was rewarded for his strong work rate with 30-plus possessions while Sam Harris, Luke Garland, Andrew Dess and Matt Sharp also made major contributions.
Another bonus for the Panthers was the form of half-forward Myles Aalbers who kicked two goals in his best match of the season.
Lavington coach James Saker said the win was built around strong defence.
“We started really well which was pleasing and, while Myrtleford probably had the better of the second quarter, we got back to playing well again after that,” Saker said.
“Keeping Myrtleford to three goals was a positive for us.
“Myrtleford is a really young side and they have some good kids coming through.”
Justin Koschitzke covered the absence of fellow talls Tom Yensch and Adam Prior by kicking five goals to be the most damaging forward on the ground while Jay Banks and Aalbers were dangerous at ground level.
Myrtleford ruckmen Matt Dussin and Callum Crisp toiled manfully as did experienced duo Brad Murray and Kristan Height.
