Firefighters from the region – which includes Wodonga and Wangaratta – flew to Sydney on Sunday before flying to Canada on Monday.
About 400 fires are burning in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan covering more than 1 million hectares.
The firefighters belong to the CFA, Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, with 102 Australians deployed.
