The impact of the crash forced the passenger of the car, a woman, 71, into the back seat.
Leading Sen-Constable Guy Tinsley, of Wodonga highway patrol, said it appeared the car, travelling south on Jack’s Road, failed to give way and hit a truck heading west on the Murray Valley Highway about 1pm.
The truck driver, a man, 40, from Shepparton suffered chest injuries and was taken to Wangaratta Hospital along with the driver of the car, a woman, 61, from Moss Vale who had rib and head injuries. Her passenger was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital with chest injuries.
