Kuschert was among the Roos’ best in his 250th senior match for the club.
“That was probably the most pleasing thing, to win for Kade,” Roos coach Bryce Campbell said.
“That was something the players got themselves up for. We had Peter Tossol in the rooms before the game and he was really inspiring.”
Al Austin, Damien Wilson and Lachie Longmire were also impressive, while Jamie Allan, 150th-gamer Matt Kelly and Xavier Norden were the Magpies’ best.
The only sour note for the Roos was a season-ending hamstring injury to Hayden Singe in the first quarter.
