WorldSkills Australia competitions provide vocational students with a chance to showcase their skills at a regional level.
The Albury campus hosted the cookery competition on August 19 and the Business Services category will be contested on August 28.
Competitors have eight hours to demonstrate a series of skills that have been designed by industry experts in their respective fields.
The judging panels for each competition have local industry members to ensure the students are displaying current industry skills.
Relieving Institute director Terri Connellan said hosting the bi-annual regional awards was a privilege.
“WorldSkills Australia provides a valuable opportunity for talented young people to put their skills into practice and for a select few it will catapult them on to the world stage as experts in their field.”
Competitions take place at Albury, Wagga, Leeton and Temora and gold medallists progress to state finals.
