Gizmo is a three-year-old purebred Kelpie who was last seen when she was locked up at the Wodonga Abattoir at 4.30pm Saturday.
She is black and tan in colour, well trained and responds to her name.
“She's worth a lot of money because she is a fully trained working dog and the last one left in her blood line,” Mr Prenter said.
His son, Liam, noticed she was missing when he returned to the abattoir at 6.20am Sunday.
The disappearance is being treated as a theft and anyone with information should contact Wodonga Police on (02) 6049 2600.
