Broadgauge received its first hat in The Age Good Food Guide awards on Monday, joining four other North East hat recipients – Provenance, Beechworth, Terrace Restaurant, Wahgunyah, and Bright pair Simones Restaurant and Tani Eat & Drink.
Jodie Jones and Steve Carne, who opened Broadgauge at the former Wodonga rail station in June 2013, attended the awards announcement in Melbourne.
"You generally don't get invited unless there's something happening, but you just don't know what that is until you get there," Ms Jones said.
"We were thrilled, absolutely thrilled.
"We are very fortunate, we have quite a few key staff that have been with us since the beginning, they're all hard working, they all have a great attitude.
“They're fantastic for us, we couldn't do it without them.
"We hope to maintain consistency and strive to keep our standards high."
